Negotiations with Novustika have come to an end

Good day, citizens of Luxoria. Today we want to talk about a crisis we’ve been dealing with, because we find it’s important to be transparent. You may or may not have heard rumours about the following situation. We are here to clear up the details.

The beginning

In early April, two poachers from Novustika, were arrested while hunting for beloved polar bears. The general attorney pressed charges against the criminals. Novustika has an anti-animal poaching policy and that’s apparently why the poachers came to our country. It came to our attention that the poachers also discovered the myth of how the bones of our polar bears could be used to create an eternity elixir. They even wanted to trade the product to their leader in exchange for a free hunting pass in Novustika.

The leaders of our country were astonished when they heard the news. They came together and decided a punishment for Novustika was necessary. The leaders asked UBN to ban Novustika from participating in the UBN hockey cup. We did not receive an immediate reply from UBN at first.

Another crisis

Two months after the horrific event, we were notified that the same thing had happened in Novustika. We were shocked to find out that two of our Luxorian citizens were accused of having killed two elephants and one rhino. One of the elephants turned out to be pregnant. The evidence was clear. However, before we had time to think about what to do with the situation, Novustika threatened to stop its gas deposit exports to our country. As you may well know, Luxoria is dependent upon other countries for natural resources as we do not have many ourselves. It felt like an attack on our country, one that we could not let go so easily.

The UBN wouldn’t say who was right of who was wrong, but they summoned us to negotiate and we had to figure out a proper solution. On the 3rd of August, the leaders of Luxoria came to negotiate with Novustika for our future at the UBN central office.

Days of negotiations

From August 3rd to 28th, our board discussed the matter with Fae Drago, who assured us to have been unaware of the action of the citizens within our country. We came to an agreement, that will be powered by the mutual trust built during this month of negotiations. Luxorian and Novustikis authorities will work together to fight poaching all over UBN. This means that we will collaborate on an operative aspect daily, we will also share our knowledge in animal protection.

Fantasy elixir, real tragedy

In the last 2 years, 14 polar bears have been killed by poachers searching for this ‘legendary’ elixir, no proof of its existence has been found and none shall be found. Luxoria hired special services to look out for polar bears and protect them from poachers, those guards are armed and WILL shoot any person threatening the life of our furred friends. We do not tolerate animal murder, regardless of the motivations.
